27th
February: Had the camera out today and managed to grab
one poor picture of the new litter. I've also added pictures
of Felony and one of Cally. Here is Ruebli - now at home with
Christina Walker of Sungold Bengals:
26th
February: Pru's kittens arrived between nine and ten last
night. Mum and babies are doing well. Pru's given us another
wonderful chocolate box selection of kittens, with a snow
spotted boy, a brown marbled boy and a brown spotted girl!
I'm not sure what is happening with Flower. It's looking more
and more like a phantom pregnancy, so I've removed her from
the kittens page. Will just have to wait and see what happens!
Myfanwy
is due on Monday and she is looking absolutely huge - the
biggest I've seen a cat so far. Whether this means she's full
of water or not we will have to wait and see. No doubt we
are going to have fun and games with Myfanwy, because she's
so shy. I have no idea how I am going to get her upstairs
into our bedroom because she takes cover every time she sees
me and my other half is away in the US at the moment until
her due date.
Don't
forget to vote in our poll if you haven't already done so.
Thanks for the votes so far - clearly swinging towards the
positive.
25th
February: No kittens this weekend, and I'm still camped
out with Pru.
23rd
February: Will be spending much of the day 'camped out'
with Prudence waiting for her litter to be born.
22nd
February: Dollycats Ruebli went home with her new owners,
Sungold Bengals based in Street, Somerset. Ruebli will bring
exciting lines to Sungold's little Bengal family. Her Daddy
is of course our boy Glitterglam Thriller - with Grand Champions
and Supreme Grand Champions from Akerrs and Noah on his dad's
side and Gogees on his mum's side. Rueblie's mum is Ripley.
Our queen Ripley is a beautiful Tarantela cat out of lines
featuring International Winner Supreme
Grand Champion Bridlewood A License to Thrill, International
Winner Supreme Grand Champion Katznjamr's Inkosi of
Kosikatz and Regional Winner Quadruple
Grand Champion Dicaprio of Starbengal. Other names
you may recognise are Millwood (of course!), Gogees, Jumanji
and Silvergene.
Christina
and her family (Sungold) are very excited to be involved with
the Bengal breed and we wish them all luck and support with
their new feline family.
Whilst
waiting for the litters to arrive we have been pondering our
site and the removal of our 'Hall of Shame' and the more personal
remarks about the breeding world. We felt this was the right
thing to do at the time as someone pointed out this was damaging
to the breed. However my experience has been that since removing
the 'Hall of Shame' and my personal ramblings things have
become SO much bitchier.
We
are now considering our options and will perhaps add a poll
later on to ask opinions.
Later:
See poll underneath.
21st
February: Exciting times ahead! Any day now we will hear
the pitter patter of tiny paws as Python's half brothers and
sisters grace us with their presence, and Rapunzel's half
brother or sister makes an appearance. I'm talking in the
singular for Rapunzel for her mum always looks so small. But
saying that she did have a good litter last time!
We've
been tweaking pages here and there. We've been working hard
on other projects while our Bengal babies are growing in-utero
but we're now back to focusing our attention on the Bengals.
We have litters due from Prudence, Flower, Myfanwy, Cally,
Joy, Bianca, Cherry and possibly Greta now. Busy times ahead!
Our
friend Lauren should be around to help us over the coming
months.
Our
stud Monty is growing in confidence by the day and has become
a completely soppy boy. His tryst with Bronwyn seems to have
reached its natural conclusion and in a couple of weeks time
he will officially be a Dollycats stud and will be rewarded
with his own heated batchelor pad where he can entertain ladies.
Speaking
of which - we are still settling into the household and cat
housing is all over the place. We need to put more cat houses
on order and get larger facilities for our early generation
Savannahs
Our
site is looking cleaner and more slimlined despite the fact
that we have added a games and 'site stats' section.
We
hope our followers will keep 'tuned in' for more information.
It's lovely to get emails from you all! If you keep it up
we may have to run competitions in the future!!!!!
Speak
soon!
13th
February: Just two weeks to go and Prudence's babies will
arrive, swiftly followed by all of the others.
Bronwyn
and Monty have had a romantic liaison. Unintentionally - so
she's now being entered into the breeding plans a little earlier
than we expected. No matter!
I've
decided I don't like the site design and it will probably
be going back to the way it was before!
Later:
The site is now back to the way it looked before (more or
less). We've been taking photos this afternoon and have updated
the Queens page with photos of Greta
and Cherry. Monty has had his picture
taken now he is a much bigger cat - it's not a great picture
but previously we only had a kitten picture for him.
Python
is taking fright at all the pregnant ladies and is being intimidated
by them. She's been living with them in this section of the
house for a couple of months, so the only thing that makes
sense is everybody's changing hormone levels. The queens get
a lot more aggressive with other cats when they're pregnant,
as well as being a lot more needy of the humans.
GRETA
- ENJOYING THE WINTER SUN
8th
February: Just a quick update for our kitten owners on
their own pages, and some pictures of Felony enjoying a patch
of sun in our conservatory.
Whilst
we're facing the 'calm before the storm' (five Bengal litters
due in the next few weeks alone), we have been working on
our Savannah venture. We have now set up a worldwide forum
for Savannah cat fanciers and here it is - Savannah
Cat Forum. Anybody interested in these gorgeous beasts
should join!
7th
February : Still
very quiet here (cat-wise) and we are revelling in it - after
all in another few weeks kittens will be arriving and we'll
have a very full house! Our new stud boy, Monty, arrived home
last night after a long journey from his breeder in Wales.
He's still hiding and trying to recover from the drive - it
will take him a while to settle in. He's a big boy - rosetted
and big boned and we're very happy to have him here with us.
We have decided to upload our videos to YouTube rather than
try to display them on our own server as it's quicker for
YouTube to display them, than us.
Here's
one - Pru was chomping away on a cardboard box. Unfortunately
when she saw the camera pointing at her she 'changed the subject'
and decided not to perform, so the video is a bit lame - our
way of testing YouTube.
3rd
February : We
have some unexpected news - we believe Flower is pregnant
again. She's only just started showing signs, and it's possible
it's a phantom pregnancy, though we have no real reason to
suspect this. Assuming she is pregnant she is due on the last
day of this month and the sire is Lothario. Exciting!
