12th March : Joy has had five bouncing brown spotty babies - she delivered them yesterday afternoon. All is well and we expect there to be one or two show/breeding kittens.

11th March : Still quiet. Still no more babies.

10th March : Joy still has her legs crossed, though she is looking suspiciously like delivering within the next 24 hours if her interest in small dark places is anything to go by.

The kittens are growing and I've taken some photographs of Prudence's babies. I will photograph Myfanwy's crew next week.

I ran a poll to ask whether regular visitors wanted to see the return of the 'Hall of Shame' that I had for a few months last year. An overwhelming majority (90%) voted yes. However I have decided our efforts are better placed elsewhere - our cattery size has doubled and will double again over the next couple of years and we do not have the time and energy to devote to the more personal area of the website. As is usual in any walk of life 'buyer beware' applies to purchasing a pedigree cat. Be happy with your breeder. Check the terms of their contract are favourable. Never buy from a breeder that will not stand by their cats (eg. offer a replacement if the cat dies of an illness in the first year, will not offer them a home if you can no longer care for them etc etc). In other words, check, check, check.

The 'Hall of Shame' was set up to air various injustices that had occured. Nobody was named. To people that have been offended by the 'Hall of Shame', and were not the stars of it, we can only apologise. To the others that identified themselves on there - you deserved it.

6th March : All quiet here between kittens. Joy is due in a couple of days time.

4th March : Flower's little silver girl, born yesterday by c-section, is being fostered by mum Prudence, who has three of her own kittens. So, Pru is now taking care of a snow spotty, a brown spotty, a brown marbled and a silver spotty! A delightful chocolate box assortment! Flower is recovering from her c-section. She watched on with some curiosity as Myfanwy gave birth to five big beautiful babies in the early hours of this morning (between 3 and 6).

We're now catching up with the housework that always accumulates here when a litter is on its way, and have left the mum's with their babies. Myfanwy is, as expected, extremely nervous - instead of lying on her side to allow her kittens to suckle her she huddles over them. So far so good - but it's not ideal and always worrying if a mother is on top of her baby!

3rd March : Flower had a c-section this afternoon resulting in a little silver kitten. Otherwise we have been busy with other cats expecting their babies - Myfanwy is still hanging on in there, but the kittens should be ready to put in an appearance any time now.
