Perrot Now
Written
3rd Feb 2008
Please
find attached a photo of Todd. We have decided to call him
'Perrot' (silent T) which is the Guernsey word for Parrot.
This was done after he decided to sit on my shoulder and
squawk for most of the time!!
He is gorgeous, feisty and very loving. He needs attention
but don't we all!?
He and Otis are so funny, chasing each other around, playing
without any malice then chilling together like little and
large!

Inky Pinky

Pet name:
Ruby
One
of Beth's mails, reproduced with the kind permission of
Beth.
Just
to let you know we've decided that Inky Pinky's pet name
will be Ruby. She settled in really well last night, was
really excited with her new toys then conked out in her
igloo bed for the rest of the night. I kept getting up during
the night to check if she was ok as I couldnt believe how
quiet she was being. Since waking up at 7 this morning she's
had quite alot to say and has been very cuddly ! My family
have all been visiting in droves and cant believe how pretty
and friendly she is.
I'll send you updates of how she's getting on later too.
Thanks for giving us such a little gem...

Excerpts
from one of Louise's mails, reproduced with the kind permission
of Louise.
Just
wanted to send you a quick update of Thumper's well being!
She's settled in really well and after 10 days she's a firm
member of the family!! With her lively and very funny personality
she's kept us entertained as we've watched her explore her
new home. She's now snuggled asleep (one of her rare moments)
and cuddled up with Florence (who's a month older than her)
giving her a wash. Any worries about her entering a busy
animal filled house have disappeared.
She's now met the 2 Labradors and getting used to them really
quickly! They only have the run of two rooms (she of course
has the house) so she can choose when to visit. After the
first look (she looked like she'd seen a monster!) she now
wanders in, waits for a quick wash (they seem to adore her)
then plonks herself on their bed (she loves the underfloor
heating!) and snoozes until she feels like giving them their
bed back and leaves with her tail in the air!
Darcie's
Tortoise didn't get quite the same respect! He lives under
a warm lamp in Darcie's room. Thumper however has him firmly
down as a moving rock, great for sitting on with a quick
sunbathe under the lamp!!! She has yet to meet the chickens
who do wander in ...... will keep you posted!
Mainly
however, we wanted to thank you for all the hard work you've
put into her first 13 weeks of life. She's obviously been
well socialised with lots of hugs and it shows!!
Will of course send you some pics in due course.
Take care
Louise

Pet name: Zulu
Excerpts
from one of Martin's mails, reproduced with the kind permission
of Martin.
Zulu
has not stopped purring.... he is a little sweetie, so cute.
He is very adventurous, climbing beams (sometimes upside
down), he likes walking across my keyboard. He does sit
on my lap, but not the children's yet. He loves the computer
monitor, I think it is the cursor. He tends to come and
sit on my lap in the evening whilst I am on the computer
on his own accord.
He
is a lovely cat and I appreciate all that you have done
with him in the first 3 months.
Hope
to mail you again soon with his progress.
Regards
Martin

Excerpts
from one of Kate's mails, reproduced with the kind permission

He
is wonderful he is getting much bigger and has got the big
black cat eating out of his paws! They spend most of the
day charging round together and then they both crash out
sometimes curled up together with Claws washing Harry.
We were at one point close to phoning you and coming down
to buy Hurricane as Harry kept crying out for his brothers
and sisters. We decided to wait and see how he got on and
now he is fine....checked out your site and saw that all
the litter have now been sold. hope Hurricane had a nice
home to go to as well.
We will be putting up the Christmas tree and decorations
soon which will be interesting we have bets on to see which
one of the boys pulls the tree over first!!

Choco
weighs just under 3kg so he has definately grown in the
last month!!! I managed to get some pic's last week so i'll
get them sent to you. He really is getting quite handsome!!
Not that i'm biased in any way!!! You're more than welcome
to put them on the website. He has developed an obession
with our upstairs toilet and we have a push button flusher
which luckily he isn't quite strong enough to push but it
has definately clicked that if you push it the water goes
round and it's all very exciting!! So i expect the toilet
will be flushed at all times of the night and day soon!

Hope
you are well?
Mai
Tai is doing very well. Its funny how you can buy nearly
every toy for her and yet tiny bits of rolled up paper always
seem to keep her happy for hours.Yes,she still loves playing
with her tail in front of the wood burner, she spends alot
of the time sat by it and im sure she wishes it was on all
day long.Mai Tai really has become one of the family and
loves sitting on your lap and snoozing until she spots a
spider or a fly and then, watch out, what became a very sleepy
cat becomes a very wide awake cat and nothing will get in
her way.She enjoys her food very much and mornings is always
great scrabbling up onto my shoulder and high pitched meeeeeeows
when she wants her breakfast. I could go on forever but
she really is a wonderful cat, full of character, mischief
and fun.My house is still standing, which is a good sign.

Pet names: Syd and Diego
One
of Vicky and Adam's mails, reproduced with the kind permission
of Vicky and Adam.
The
boys are doing really well. Sadly they now both attempt
to run up our legs, the only saving grace is that Diego
is too heavy to heave himself all the way up to your shoulders!
Diego
is now a small cat and double the size of Syd, who is still
very much a kitten. I have attached a couple of pictures
of them and a video (if it works). Diego is very good at
posing, however Syd has a tendancy not to sit still (except
when he is a sleep) and definitely doesn't like having his
picture taken, so it took ages to get the photo!
We
are thrilled to bits with the boys, they are such a big
part of our little family now and really are a joy to have
around. Our house is now continuously filled with madness,
toys and loads of cuddles. Thank you for letting us take
them home! (When can we give them back? Only joking!!!).Speak
soon.
Kind
regards,
Vicky & Adam

Baby Eskimo and Dollycats Peach Bunny
DOB 03/07/2007
Pet names: Eskimo and Peach
Excerpts
from Rob's mails, reproduced with the kind permission of
Rob.
Eskimo
and Peach (did I tell you that we decided to keep
their names?!) spend all day scrapping, playing,
cleaning and snoozing on each other- as well as
giving us lots of cuddles!
Eskimo has actually taken to suckling the pad
at the base of Carmen's thumb as well. He did
it again this morning- I think that's like the
3rd time now. He totally suckles at it making
loud sucking noises as he does so- it is so cute!
Iwas jealous and wanted him to do it to me but
I think he clearly only wants to suckle his mummy!
(and rightly so I guess!).
They're a funny pair, at first we thought Eski
was going to be the troublesome hyperactive boy
but it seems now that he's the most immediately
affectionate and listens when we tell him not
to do anything! Peach is a bit of a tearaway at
the moment and enjoys her mischief and climbing
(which she is actually a lot better than Eskimo
at, surprisingly, as he's much bigger (about twice
her size now!) and stronger... but she's fearless!
Even when you tell her off she doesn't care, she
just runs off and then does the same thing a second
later! It is quite funny too as if I order Peach
to get out of a room or something and she ignores
me Eskimo will actually go up and give her a little
swipe with his claw to make her do it, it is so
funny!

Bram Stoker
DOB 03/07/2007
One
of Adam's mails, reproduced with the kind permission of
Adam.
Bram
is gorgeous. So affectionate and friendly, he's just taking
a nap on my lap right now. Very playful, I'm really pleased
that he seems to like the toys and scratching posts I bought
for him. He's eating well and using the litter box (mostly!
a couple of accidents but understandable ones and nothing
consistent). He's been very vocal since he got here, he
wanders around meowing a lot, and I'm a bit worried that
there's something he needs or wants but I don't know what
it is. On the other hand, I figure that he's just come from
the only home he's known and he's used to having a lot of
other cats and kittens around, so maybe he's missing them.
In
short, a wonderful kitten. I couldn't ask for one with a
sweeter temperament.
I've
taken quite a few pictures, and I'll get them on my computer
soon. I'll send you a few of the best when I do!
Kind
regards,
Adam.

One
of Matt's mails, reproduced with the kind permission of
Matt.
He's
settled in amazingly well! He was a bit confused on Friday
night, but he's been pottering around playing with all his
toys and saying hello to everyone. He also enjoys jumping
up on people's laps for a cuddle and a snooze too, which
is great! He loves his new cat tree and scratching posts
here and is having a great time.
So great a time, in fact, that he hasn't quite fathomed
the notion of bed time quite yet ;-) . Been asked to play
at various times of the morning, but it's all good and I'm
sure he'll get the idea soon enough! He's very happy and
getting through his food happily as well. I'll upload a
few pictures as soon as I can find my phone camera!

Mr Creosote and Dollycats Liberty Belle
DOB 03/04/2007
Pet names: Puss and Liberty
Excerpts
from Lauren's mails, reproduced with the kind permission
of Lauren.
...
They are still very cute, although I am covered
in lots of small claw marks where they climb up
my legs to get to their food, they just
cant wait!! Rita has almost! accepted them she
likes chasing them and they like chasing her,
they are very amusing! Both kittens love to play
in the water fountain, not sure they are drinking
from it, but definitely paddle!!...
...Liberty
has learnt to fight for her food and is eating
anything and everything well! Fidget is lovely,
he is like a little purr box, he purrs at everything,
Rita has got used to them now which is good, they
all seem to be getting on well. They seem to have
grown too!! ....
...They
are becoming very cuddly, Fidget more so than
Liberty, which surprises me quite a lot, they
get on with Freya really well, they jump all over
her and chase her for any food that she has....
...Its
nice that we are keeping in contact and I can
tell you all about the kittens, they really are
fantastic, Rita has changed in the fact that she
is now much more playful and will chase the kittens
all over the house, they are such fun to watch,
but they like to stay up late, when we are ready
for bed they are still charging around the house,
knocking things over!!
...
I think the way the kittens were handled before
we got them made such a difference to their behaviour
towards people, they are definitely people cats,
they love cuddles, and their purr's are so loud...
Lauren
